U.S. Senator Bob Menendez called the allegations of sexual assault against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh “credible,” and said his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, should be heard.

“Professor Ford deserves to be heard as these allegations raise even more questions about Kavanaugh’s character and ability to serve,” Menendez said.

Menendez said that his Republican opponent, Bob Hugin, has attempted to downplay his own actions  opposing women and gay members at a Princeton University eating club he once led.

“Hugin should have to answer for the hateful, misogynistic views he spouted 35 years ago,” Menendez said.
