The Bangladesh Association of South Jersey has endorsed Amy Kennedy for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 2nd district.
“Amy Kennedy is a friend, an ally and a leader in South Jersey,” said Mohammed Islam, the organization’s president. “We’re supporting Amy because of her dedication and commitment to address the challenges we face here. Amy values the diversity and culture of our community and is willing to stand up to the hateful politics we see today. We know Amy will create the change that South Jersey needs.”
The organization also endorsed Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr. in the primary. Small is running on the organization line with Kennedy, who has the backing of the local Democratic organization supporting another candidate.
Kennedy praised the work of the organization.
“If elected, I look forward to working alongside them to lift up the voices of their community and to fight for the things the people of South Jersey,” she said.
