Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) raised $310,733 more during the first seventeen days of October, bringing his fundraising total for his re-election campaign in New Jersey’s 5th district to $6,583,290.
Gottheimer, who unseated seven-term Republican Rep. Scott Garrett in 2016, is viewed as the strong favorite to win a second term against Republican John McCann, a former Cresskill councilman.
Gottheimer reported spending $431,246 between October 1-17, and has spent $1,846,441 total for 2018. He has $4,838,769 cash-on-hand.
McCann raised $83,360 during the same time frame, bringing his total fundraising to $661,670. That includes dollars spent to win a bruising primary against former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan and a $328,620 loan McCann made to his own campaign.
McCann has $33,916 cash-on-hand.
