Two allies of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Fulop will get to stay on the June primary ballot for State Assembly after administrative law judges ruled that they received the minimum 250 signatures they needed.
In the 8th district, former Evesham Councilman Eddie Freeman wound up with 254 valid signatures after objectors disqualified 41 other signers. This puts Freeman in a Democratic primary against Assemblywoman Andrea Katz (D-Chesterfield) and her running mate, Anthony Angelozzi, a Hammonton teacher.
Piscataway school board member Loretta Rivers submitted 318 signatures, and Judge Kimberley Wilson determined that she had adequately repaired the technical defects that were being challenged. Rivers faces incumbents Joe Danielson (D-Franklin) and Kevin Egan (D-New Brunswick).
Two of other Fulop candidates didn’t make it through: Dave Luciano in the 14th and David Tingle in the 18th.
Petitions for two other Fulop-backed candidates, Kevin Ryan and Rebecca Holloway in the 6th, survived legal challenges.
