Dear Readers,
The New Jersey Globe will celebrate its six-month anniversary on July 4. I am grateful to all of you for the success we have achieved in a relatively short time and want to express my sincere appreciation for your support.
In just six months, the New Jersey Globe has moved into the #1 slot in our lane of digital media companies who cover local and state politics. Total page views in June 2018 were nearly double those of InsiderNJ, an achievement made possible through a loyal readership.
We are pleased to have Nikita Biryukov join our team as a full-time news reporter in March. Nikita was an intern at MSNBC for Steve Kornacki, who began his journalism career as my first full-time reporter at PoliticsNJ sixteen years ago. The circle of life here is perfect.
Kevin Sanders joined us in February as general manager. His presence is enhanced by his experiences at PolitickerNJ and Observer New Jersey and Kevin has been an integral part of our growth and success.
It is with much regret that all of us have watched the demise of the state’s first online news site. As its founder in 2000, the loss of this competitor brings me no joy. I wish Christian Hetrick the very best as he embarks on the next journey of his career, and it saddens me that the Observer no longer has a full-time presence in New Jersey.
Over the next few months, the New Jersey Globe looks forward to continued growth as we cover the race for United States Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and competitive contests for county and local office across New Jersey. Expect continued coverage of the 2019 Assembly races and the 2021 campaign for Governor.
We look forward to our upcoming Power List and Year in Review, which will soon be back in rightful hands and accurately reflect the state of politics and government in New Jersey.
Covering New Jersey politics is never dull, and the news never disappoints. I appreciate the chance to come back and do this job again.
