A new non-profit group, Fair Property Taxes for All New Jersey, launched a campaign today to educate and inform state residents about why their property taxes are so high.
Fair Property Taxes for All New Jersey is being run by Sarah Neibart, a Mendham Township Committeewoman and the deputy campaign manager of Bob Hugin’s U.S. Senate campaign.
“No matter where you live in New Jersey, excessive property taxes are cited as one of the heaviest financial burdens carried by taxpayers,” said Sarah Neibart, President of Citizens for Accountable Taxation. “This nonprofit will provide a nexus of easy-to-access information and educational resources to better inform taxpayers in the Garden State regarding the factors that contribute to rising property taxes and where we go from here.”
The group is building a statewide resource for taxpayers and a forum for policymakers and scholars to discuss ideas for solving New Jersey’s highest-in-the-nation property tax problem.
