New Jersey raked in $28 million from gaming taxes in July, according the Division of Gaming Enforcement.
The state’s sports book also brought in $4.5 million in taxes. A tax on racetrack sports bets brought in $138,275.
Gaming revenues were up 10.7% since July of last year, from $302 million to $334 million.
Most of the growth was spurred by increases in online gambling, where revenue rose 51.8% since last July, from $26 million to 52%.
This year, gaming revenues are up about 23% from where they were last year. The industry has already pulled in $1.9 billion. At this point last year, the industry had pulled in about $1.6 billion.
