A New Jersey Democatic political consultant has paid for an airplane banner attacking President Donald Trump on social security that will fly along the beaches today between Cape May and Long Beach Island.
“Trump wants to cut your medicare and social security,” says the banner that was paid for by Joshua Henne.
“We can let Trump distract us with his daily craziness and lies…Or we can highlight how Trump is actively hurting Americans when it comes to their health, well-being, safety and finances,: Henne said. “With the RNC Convention starting, I thought this would be a direct way to simply remind folks that Trump wants to cut their Social Security and Medicare. Actually, Trump wants to cut Medicaid, too, but I didn’t have room on the banner.”
While New Jersey’s 14 electoral votes are not in play, the messaging will reach some critical Pennsylvania swing state voters who spend time at the Jersey shore, as well as boost the campaign of NJ-2 Democrat Amy Kennedy.
Kennedy is challenging Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis), a former Democrat and a Trump supporter who will address the Republican National Convention on Thursday evening.
