Christie can’t seem to find his way over the rainbow, this time in a new Kansas poll

Trump leads DeSantis in a survey of likely Kansas ’24 primary voters in home state of Alf Landon and Bob Dole

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie followed the yellow brick road to another discouraging poll, with a new Remington Research Group poll of likely Republican presidential primary voters in Kansas not including him.

Former President Donald Trump has a 30%-17% lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in Kansas, with three other candidates – former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo – tied at 9%.  U.S. Senator Tim Scott is at 2%.

If he can find his ruby slippers, Christie’s best-case scenario is the six percent of Republicans who told the pollster they prefer someone else was for him.    Republican primary polls in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina have put Christie at zero percent.

In a two-way race, DeSantis leads Trump, 33%-41%.

Trump has a 52%-34% favorable rating, DeSantis is at 56%-23%, and Pompeo, a former congressman from Kansas, has favorables of 51%-23%.

The Remington Research Group poll was conducted on February 15-16 with a sample size of 1,010 likely 2024 GOP presidential primary voters and had a margin of error of +/- 3%.
