U.S. Senator Cory Booker spent today in South Carolina, stumping for President Joe Biden and raising money for the South Carolina Democratic Party.
Booker was joined by Democratic National Chairman Jaime Harrison.
“Senator Booker is excited to be in South Carolina to do his part in supporting the Democratic Party and to highlight the accomplishments of the Biden administration,” said Mo Butler, Booker’s top New Jersey political advisor, who was also on the trip.
The South Carolina Democratic presidential primary will be held on February 23, 2024 as part of a plan championed by Biden and Harrison to replace Iowa and New Hampshire with a state that is more representative of Democratic voters. New Hampshire still scheduled their primary ahead of South Carolina, and Biden chose not to appear on the ballot there.
In addition to Biden, Rep. Dean Philips (D-Minnesota) and Marianne Williamson will appear on the South Carolina primary ballot.
Booker made multiple visits to South Carolina before ending his bid for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. He is expected to seek the presidency again in 2028.
