Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff), Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee Chairman Paul Sarlo (D-Wood-Ridge), Republican congressional candidate John Henry Isemann, and Republican Strategist Dan Scharfenberger joined host David Wildstein on the New Jersey Globe Power Hour on Talk Radio 77 WABC on Saturday, March 5.
Gottheimer is the co-chairman of the House Problem Solvers Caucus. A former Clinton White House speechwriter and Microsoft executive, he ousted a seven-term Republican congressman in 2016 and has been re-elected twice.
Sarlo was elected to the State Assembly in 2001 and to the Senate in 2003. He’s been the mayor of Wood-Ridge since 2000. He chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee from 2008 to 2010 and has chaired the Budget and Appropriations Committee since 2010.
Isemann is seeking the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th district, where Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) is seeking re-election to his third term. A 27-year-old Long Valley resident and the son of a minister and a school nurse, Isemann worked on Wall Street before heading up a humanitarian effort in Guatemala.
Scharfenberger is the campaign manager for Tom Kean, Jr.’s campaign for Congress in NJ-7. He served as executive director of the Senate Republican Majority Campaign Committee in 2021, on the Kean 2020 campaign, and on Bob Hugin’s campaign for U.S. Senate in 2018.
Wildstein is the host of the New Jersey Globe.
