Assemblyman Christopher Tully (D-Bergenfield) has been named borough administrator for Dumont.
“Chris’ knowledge of government – municipal, county, state and federal – will be a great asset to this administration and the residents of Dumont,” said Mayor Andrew LaBruno, who took office earlier this month. “Having known him for many years, I have always been impressed by his strong communications skills, ability to grasp complex issues, and commitment to constituent services. Bottom line, he gets it.”
The nomination will be on the council agenda for Wednesday evening.
Tully is a former Bergenfield council president who was serving as district director for Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) before winning a seat in the New Jersey Legislature. He is currently a personnel administrator for Bergen County.
LaBruno has also named Issa Ahmad Abbasi as the part-time chief financial officer. Abbasi is currently the Teaneck CFO.
A Jersey City police detective, LaBruno flipped the Dumont mayoral post last year following the retirement of GOP incumbent James Kelly.
