Rodriguez ballot position advantage over Roque

By David Wildstein, March 21 2019 5:31 pm

Ballot positions matter in Hudson County, where a slate backed by the county Democratic hierarchy has secured the highly preferential Column A in the West New York non-partisan municipal election on May 14.

The New Beginnings ticket led by incumbent Gabriel Rodriguez is in Column A, while his rival, two-term mayor Felix Roque, is in Column E.

If the five-member Rodriguez-led slate — which includes incumbents Cosmo Cirillo and Margarita Guzman – wins a majority of the seats, Rodriguez would be mayor.

Roque is running a five-candidate slate that includes incumbent Susan Colacurcio.

Column B has Ronald Scheurle running alone under a Make The Town Great Again slogan.  Colum C has a five-candidate slate headed by Anthony Valdez, and Column D is occupied by one candidate, Adil Ahmed.
