Petrick, Pabon, Tejeda win Perth Amboy Council race

All three of the Perth Amboy Council candidates aligned against Mayor Wilda Diaz won their elections Friday.

Council President William Petrick, Councilman Joel Pabon and School Board member Milady Tejeda secured 20%, 23% and 21% of the votes in the contest.

Their three Diaz-aligned challengers, Alana Cueto, Vincent Makfinsky and Marilou Villacis had 14%, 12% and 11% of the ballots cast in their name.

Petrick received 3,521 votes. Pabon got 4,154, while 3,743 ballots were cast for Tejeda.

Cueto got 2,474 votes. Villacis secured 2,023, and Makfinsky received 2,100.
