Middlesex County Commissioners Ronald Rios and Shanti Narra, both Democrats, handily secured another term Tuesday, the New Jersey Globe can project.
As of 9:46 p.m., the Democrats led the Republicans by about 29%-21%. The pair ran unopposed in their primaries and faced a challenge from John McConville, a retired sergeant at the South Plainfield Police Department, and Peter Pisar, a perennial candidate.
The GOP challenge never posed much of a threat. Republicans haven’t won countywide since 1991.
