West New York Mayor Felix Roque lost his re-election bid for a third term to Gabriel Rodriguez, one of the towns commissioners.

Rodriguez won the election with 57% of the vote, with a 14% margin of victory over Mayor Roque who lost his bid with only 43% of the vote, down 14.9% from his 2015 re-election over Count Wiley.

Rodriguez won all but one of the voting districts, only losing Ward 2’s 4th District by 1 vote, or 0.6% of the districts vote. Rodriguez had his strongest performance in the 3rd ward of the city, winning the vote there by nearly 30%.
