Bergen County’s top Democrats made it clear they’re behind Paramus Mayor Richard LaBarbiera’s run for a third term Thursday.

The former councilmember’s campaign kickoff last night saw visits from U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez, Reps. Josh Gottheimer and Bill Pascrell, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, Bergen County Democratic Chairman Lou Stellato and State Senators Paul Sarlo and Joe Lagana, among many others.

“Our team is running for re-election to keep putting Paramus First by making our local government more efficient, protecting our Blue Laws and our residential neighborhoods and proactively planning ahead to ensure that Paramus remains the best place not only in Bergen County, but in the State,” LaBariera said in a statement.

LaBarbiera will face City Councilwoman Jeanne Weber in the city’s November elections. Paramus municipal elections are partisan.

Assembly members Chris Tully and Lisa Swain, Bergen County Freeholder Steve Tanelli, Hackensack Mayor John Labrosse, Westwood Mayor John Birkner, Emerson Mayor Lou Lamatina, Bergen Democratic leader Paul Juliano, NJ Democratic State Committee Executive Director Liz Gilbert, and Gov. Phil Murphy’s Deputy Chief of Staff Adam Alonso also attended.

Intergovernmental Affairs Director Mike DeLamater, members of the Paramus PBA, Paramus Council members MariaElena Bellinger and Ralph Amato, former council members Joe Garcia, Frank Ciambrone, Michael Blitzstein, Dennis Arslanian and Sam Casiello were also present Thursday.
