Grodd Schragger elected Lawrence Dem chair

The new Lawrence Township Democratic Municipal Chair is Elissa Grodd Schragger, who won a contested race on Monday.

She defeated Nancy Nowalksi-Powers by a vote of 21-9.  The incumbent, Edward Wiznitzer was not a candidate for re-election.

Grodd Schragger is a political ally of Mercer County Democratic Chair Janice Mironov and became the township attorney in Hamilton after Jeff Martin ousted Republican Mayor Kelly Yaede in 2019.  She is a former president of the Mercer County Federation of Democratic Women and a founder of Emerge New Jersey.
