Davis allies win Bayonne school board seats

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis added two seats to his control of the local school board when counts of provisional and late vote-by-mail ballots

Two allies of Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis have won seats on the city’s Board of Education, defeating a pair of incumbent school board members after a count of provisional and late vote-by-mail ballots.

Jan Patrick Egan (1,842) and Lisa Burke (1,837) defeated Carol Cruden (1,729) and Charles Ryan (1,717) in results that did not change after Election Day.

Incumbent Denis Wilbeck was the top vote-getter with 2,092.  He defeated Melissa Matthews (1,658), who ran with Egan and Burke.
