Watch the SOMA 28th District Assembly candidate forum

Three candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for two State Assembly seats in the 28th district faced off in a candidate forum sponsored by South Orange Maplewood (SOMA) Action: incumbent Cleopatra Tucker, former Maplewood Mayor Frank McGehee, and Deputy Esssex County Clerk Garnet Hall.

Tucker, who has served in the Assembly since 2008, is running in South Orange and Maplewood for the first time since the two heavily Democratic train station towns were added to the 28th in legislative redistricting.  Another incumbent, Mila Jasey (D-South Orange), is not seeking re-election.  Tucker and Hall are on the organization line.
