The New Jersey Globe is projecting that State Sen. Steven Oroho (R-Franklin), Assemblyman Parker Space (R-Wantage), and Assemblyman Hal Wirths (R-Wantage) have won re-election to the 24th legislative district.
They beat Frederick and Georgianna Cook, who are apparently related to one another, and ironworker Scott Fadden.
Oroho, who was elected to the Senate in 2007, is set to become the most powerful Republican in the Senate next year; he appears to have a lock on the office of Senate Minority Leader, beating out State Sen. Bob Singer (R-Lakewood) and State Sen. Joe Pennacchio (R-Montville). The current minority leader, State Sen. Tom Kean, Jr. (R-Westfield), is leaving the legislature to focus on his run for Congress.
Space, appointed to the Assembly in 2013, has drawn unflattering headlines but consistently tops the Assembly ticket with the most votes; Wirths, a former Sussex County Freeholder, joined the legislature in 2018.
