There’s no date set for State Supreme Court nominee Fabiana Pierre-Louis’s confirmation, but Senate Judiciary Chairman Nicholas Scutari (D-Linden) said it should come sometime this summer.
“It should be this summer,” Scutari said. “That’s my plan.”
Pierre-Louis, a former federal prosecutor who is now a partner at Montgomery McCracken, has received support from enough senators to be confirmed.
But unless Scutari and Senate President Steve Sweeney sign off on the nomination, that doesn’t mean much. In either case, the process is moving forward.
“The interviews are being conducted. The references are being checked,” Scutari said. “As soon as we get it all done, I’ll put it up.”
