State Sen. Joseph Lagana (D-Paramus) voiced support for Gov. Phil Murphy’s nomination of Matt Platkin as his new attorney general.
“I’m happy to see that Governor Murphy has nominated Matt Platkin to be the next Attorney General,” said Lagana. “Having had the chance to work with him while he was chief counsel, I’m confident that Mr. Platkin will serve as an exceptional Attorney General for the state of New Jersey.”
Lagana has a seat on the Senate Judiciary Committee and becomes an important ally for Platkin as he seeks confirmation to the post.
Another Bergen Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, State Sen. Paul Sarlo (D-Wood-Ridge), indicated his support for Platkin earlier today. So did State Sen. Gordon Johnson (D-Englewood), giving Platkin backing from all three Bergen County Democrats in the State Senate.
