Kean, Thomson defeat Richter in district 30

Assemblymen Sean Kean (R-Wall) and Ned Thomson (R-Wall) overcame a challenge from Alter Eliezer Richter Tuesday.

The incumbents made their bid with organizational support while Richter, a Lakewood resident who mounted an unsuccessful bid for the fourth congressional district’s House seat last year, ran under the slogan “Remove the masks, let us breathe.”

State Sen. Bob Singer (R-Lakewood) was unopposed in the primary. He’ll face Howell resident Dan Stinger in November.

Democrats Matthew Filosa and Stephen Dobbins ran for Assembly. They’ll face a steep road in the general election. Their party hasn’t won a seat in the thirtieth district in more than 30 years.
