Durr TV ad smacks Burzichelli for producing X-rated films

Third district Republicans released an ad today attacking Democratic State Senate candidate John Burzichelli for producing X-rated films  — and also acknowledging some past inappropriate social media posts by the Republican incumbent, State Sen. Edward Durr (R-Logan).

The ad, “Ridiculous,” levels an attack against Burzichelli for his role in producing adult films. In addition, the ad ties Burzichelli to sex education curriculums in elementary schools. The ad features pictures of Burzichelli overlapped with suggestive pictures of women and men.

Durr Assemblywoman Bethanne McCarthy Patrick (R-Mannington) and Assembly candidate Tom Tedesco do not appear in the ad.

Script: “What’s more ridiculous, a trucker saying something insensitive or a career politician moonlighting as an X-rated movie producer? That’s right. When he’s not raising your taxes, John Burzichelli films X-rated movies. Maybe that’s why he thought it was a good idea to keep parents in the dark and teach first graders sex-ed here’s an adult concept: Keep John Burzichelli out of office and away from our kids. John Burzichelli – wrong for South Jersey.”

Similar lines of attack against Burzichelli, a former assemblyman, in his legislative races two decades ago. This ad comes right after Brighter Future Forward – a new dark money group with ties to South Jersey Democrats – released several ads that attacked Durr’s previous comments on abortion – including: “a woman does have a choice – keep her legs closed.”
