The New Jersey Globe is projecting that State Sen. Christopher Connors (R-Lacey), Assemblywoman DiAnne Gove (R-Barnegat), and Assemblyman Brian Rumpf (R-Little Egg Harbor) have won re-election to the 9th legislative district.

Connors defeated attorney and 2019 Democratic freeholder candidate David Wright as well as independent Regina Discenza; Gove and Rumpf beat attorney Kristen Henninger-Holland and disability advocate Alexis Jackson.

The Ocean County-based 9th district’s delegation has not changed since 2009, when Gove was appointed to replace Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt, who was arrested on corruption charges. Connors succeeded his father, the late State Sen. Leonard Connors, in 2008, while Rumpf was appointed in 2003.

Final 9th district results:

Connors 69.4% // Wright 29.8% // Discenza 0.8%

Rumpf 35.1%, Gove 34.5% // Jackson 15.3%, Henninger-Holland 15.1%
