Jane Grall, who served as a New Jersey Superior Court Judge for nearly 20 years, died on August 20.  She was 72.

Grall worked as a public school teacher in Cranford before attending Rutgers Law School.  She spent most of her career as a deputy state attorney general.

Gov. Christine Todd Whitman nominated Grall to serve as a Superior Court Judge in 1997. She served as presiding judge of the Family Court in Mercer County before being elevated to the appellate division.  Grall spent ten years as an appellate judge before her retirement in 2014 and later served on recall in both trial and appellate cases.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Neafsey, a former Superior Court Judge.

Funeral services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Judges Grall and Neafsey Rule of Law Lecture at Assumption University in Worcester, Massachusetts are requested.
