Irving Sharp, who served on the Swedesboro Board of Education, died on March 19. He was 86. Sharp played minor league baseball with the St. Louis Browns, Cincinnati Reds and Washington Senators organizations from 1952 to 1957. He was elected to an unexpired school board term in 1967, and was re-elected in 1968, 1971 and 1974.
Edward Beslow, a former Oradell Zoning Board member, died on March 24. He was 73. Beslow spent 40 years as an attorney for the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
Valerie Dering, who served on the Roselle Zoning Board, died on March 24. She was 76.
Fred Dyer, the son of former Cliffside Park Mayor Frederick Dyer, died on March 21. He was 58.
