Emmett Johnson, the former mayor of Waldwick, died on March 8.  He was 94.  He was later ordained as a pastor in the United Methodist Church.  Johnson was elected to the Waldwick council in 1960 in an election that had a 92% voter turnout.  He also served on the Northwest Bergen County Sewer Authority and made an unsuccessful bid for Bergen County freeholder in 1974.

Marie Suriano, a retired New Brunswick Development Corporation staffer, died on March 6.  She was 95.

Mickey Conoscenti, a former chairman of the Bradley Beach Zoning Board, died on March 7.  He was 87. A decorated U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War, Conoscenti was the Grand Marshall of the 28th Bradley Beach Memorial Day Parade.

Regina Brzezicki, who as active in Linden Democratic politics, died on February 20.  She was 93.  Brzezicki ran the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church parish office i for 20 years,

Kenneth O’Neil, a former chairman of the New Jersey State Safety Counsel, died on March 9.  He was 88.
