Melvin Shteir, a former state Workers Compensation Court judge, died on December 27. He as 70. At the time of his retirement, Shtier was the supervising judge of the Workers Compensation Court in Monmouth County.
William Stauts, a former Medford Township Committeeman, died on December 31. He was 84. Status served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and was Medford’s zoning officer and director of environmental protection.
Alfonso Morgillo, who had served on the Fort Lee Planning Board, died on January 2. He was 96.
Gordon Clevenger, a former Pennsville Supervisor of Roads and Maintenance, died on December 31. He was 83.
Janet Morrow, a former Republican county committeewoman in Closter, died on December 30. She was 83. Morrow also served on the Closter Improvement Commission.
Gloria Sansone, a member of the Monroe Township Republican Club, died on January 3. She was 77.
Vincent Markowski, a former lieutenant in the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, died on January 3. He was 66. He also served as a Passaic city police officer and as director of security at Ramapo College.
