On this date, the New Jersey Globe joins the rest of the world in remembering the 2,974 people who were killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and those whose subsequent deaths were caused by illnesses related to 9/11.
Ludo Nolfo, the chairman of the Bayonne Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, died on September 9. He was 80. A U.S. Army veteran, Nolfo served as a member of the Board of Education and the Board of Adjustment in Bayonne.
Dick Nafash, a former Demarest Republican Municipal Chairman, died on September 6. He was 79. Nafash was a U.S. Army veteran.
Bob Cooperman, a retired Municipal Court Judge for Rockaway, Roxbury and Hopatcong, died on September 3. He was 90. Cooperman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Victoria Petracco, the mother of Nutley Commissioner Alphonse Petracco, died on September 10. She was 79.
Esme Ambos, a Republican County Committeewoman in Westfield, died on September 8. She was 95.
