Frank Mason, worked for five governors, dies

Frank Mason, who worked for five New Jersey governors as the director of the office of employee relations, died on February 22.  He was 88.

Mason was working for Johnson & Johnson in 1969 when the company loaned him to the state to help develop an employee relations program for the state.

He worked for governors Richard Hughes, William Cahill, Brendan Byrne, Tom Kean and Jim Florio.  Mason later had a private arbitration practice until his retirement in 2001.

Mason served in the U.S. army from 1953 to 1955.
