Ex-Lautenberg, Greenwald aide Stephen Schultz dies at 42

Stephen A. Shultz, a prominent government staffer who served as South Jersey Director for U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg, died on October 31. He was 42.

He was elected to the Pine Hill Borough Council in 2010 and served one four-year term.

Shultz most recently served as deputy chief of staff at the New Jersey Department of Human Services.

Before joining Lautenberg’s staff in 2006, Shultz spent five years as Assemblyman Louis Greenwald’s legislative director and three years as the deputy director of constituent relations for the Camden County Clerk’s office.

He spent eleven years as the chief of staff at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley.

A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 PM and on Saturday morning from 9:30-10 AM at the Ora L. Wooster Funeral Home in Clementon.
