New Jersey sought bids for a mobile voting platform to aid voters with disabilities in early June, according to a request for quotes obtained by the New Jersey Globe.
The RFQ sought a system that would let voters fill out their ballot on a computer of cellphone. The ballot, along with its return materials, could be printed out and mailed to election officials.
The proposed systems must not be able to store a voter’s selections or identifiable details or tabulate votes.
Firms were also required to provide 24/7 support and provide the system in English, Spanish, Gujarati and Korean.
The state ran a similar pilot program to aid voters with disabilities during the May 12 non-partisan municipal elections.
