MacArthur has raised $4.5 million in re-election bid

Two-term GOP congressman has $795k cash-on-hand

Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-Toms River) has loaned himself another $600,000 in his bid to win a third term against Democrat Andy Kim, a former Obama White House staffer, in New Jersey’s 3rd district.

MacArthur raised a total of $794,914 between October 1-17, and has raised $4,471,409 total.  He has loaned himself $1.4 million.

According to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, MacArthur spent $1,447,277 during the first seventeen days of October, and has spent $4,267,588 total.

Three independent polls show the race to be within the margin of error.
