Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean on Monday told The New Jersey Globe he has not ruled out a House run in the seventh congressional district in 2020.
Kean, one of the most powerful Republicans in state government, lives in the seventh district and could challenge Rep.-elect Tom Malinowski, who defeated Rep. Leonard Lance this year, in 2020.
He also would not rule out a far less likely and significantly more convoluted run in the eleventh district, which Rep.-elect Mikie Sherrill won for Democrats this year.
“I’ve always heard you don’t answer hypothetical questions,” Kean said of a run in the eleventh.
If he doesn’t support the President, he’ll end up just like the last “Republican” candidate in this district who didn’t support the President.
Right, and how did the candidate in the more conservative CD3 that overwhelmingly supported the President do?
