Gov. Phil Murphy’s first-year approval ratings of 43%-30% fall short of where other New Jersey governors were at the same point in their terms.

Gov. Chris Christie was at 47%-40% in a February 2011 Monmouth University poll, while Gov. Jon Corzine was at 44%-34% in a Monmouth poll released in February 2007.

Murphy is still doing better than Gov. James E. McGreevey, who was at an  upside-down 34%-45% in a February 2003 Rutgers-Eagleton poll.
