Kim vs. Richter NJ-3 debate tonight at 9 PM

By New Jersey Globe Staff, October 04 2020 3:24 pm

Freshman Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown) and businessman David Richter will face off tonight in a debate sponsored by the New Jersey Globe.

The debate, moderated by New Jersey Globe editor David Wildstein, begins at 9 PM EST and can be viewed on the New Jersey Globe, Facebook Live, YouTube and Twitter.

The two are competing to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 3rd district in what has become one of the most closely-watched congressional races in the nation.

In 2016, Donald Trump carried NJ-3 by six percentage points against Hillary Clinton.

Kim, a former Obama White House aide who was the Iraq director for the National Security Council, ousted a two-term Republican incumbent in the 2018 mid-term elections.  Richter is the former CEO of Hill International, one of the largest construction companies in the United States.

Immediately following the debate, four panelists — Assemblywoman Carol Murphy (D-Mount Laurel), Assemblyman Ryan Peters (R-Hainesport), Democratic strategists Steve Ayscue and Republican strategist and blogger Art Gallagher — will offer analysis of the Kim vs. Richter matchup.
