Astronaut Mark Kelly, who grew up in West Orange, has almost $24 million cash-on-hand for his U.S. Senate race in Arizona after raising $12.8 million during the 2nd quarter of 2020.
Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Arizona) has a 9-point lead, 52%-43%, over Republican incumbent Martha McSally in an OH Predictive Insights poll released today.
The two are facing off in a November special election to fill the unexpired term of the late U.S. Senator John McCain.
Kelly, who became a national gun safety advocate after his wife was the victim of an assassination attempt, has raised over $44 million since entering the race last year.
