Josh Welle’s campaign said the candidate raised close to $750,000 between July 1 and Sept. 30, bringing the candidate’s total raised for the cycle to more than $1.3 million.
“This campaign is shattering every previous fundraising record for this district, and it’s because the people of Central Jersey aren’t going to put up with an absentee Congressman who is asleep at the wheel,” Welle campaign manager Kim Maier said. “Chris Smith seems to think that he can sit in Washington and rely on his corporate donors and special interests to win this race for him. Momentum is clearly on the side of Josh Welle.”
Smith has not yet released his quarterly fundraising totals. The deadline to submit those totals to the Federal Election Commission is Oct. 15. That data is usually made available within two days of submission.
At the end of June, Smith had $754,004.80 in his war chest, with $813,675 raised during this cycle. It’s not clear how much Welle has banked following the release of his latest fundraising figures.
