VoteVets PAC backs Welle

VoteVets PAC, a group of progressive veterans, has endorsed Josh Welle for Congress, in New Jersey’s 4th District.

“Josh is someone who excels when it comes to serving others – it’s what motivates him,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chair of VoteVets. “That’s the kind of mindset we need in Washington, right now – someone who puts service above self. Additionally, Josh has desperately needed national security experience, that we need in Congress, to ensure that America stays secure, in an increasingly dangerous world. We’re very proud to endorse him.”

Welle is a U.S. Naval Academy and served 12 years active duty, including a support role of the Marine landing during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, a tour with the Army 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and four deployments to the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Welle is challenging 19-term Republican Rep. Chris Smith (R-Hamilton), a former chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
