Republican congressional candidate Frank Pallotta has won the endorsement of Sussex County sheriff Mike Strada.
“Frank Pallotta stood with Sussex County and stood with me against the Murphy administration’s attempts to do away with effective border controls,” Strada said.
In his bid to take on Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) in New Jersey’s 5th district, Pallotta has secured endorsements from Sussex County GOP chairman Jerry Scanlan and all five Republicans on the Board of Freeholders.
Pallotta also has the Republican organization line in Passaic County.
His main rival for the nomination, former Cresskill councilman John McCann, has the line in Bergen County.
“The battle we fought last year, on behalf of the people of Sussex County, has been proved right by the deadly virus we are now facing. Border controls are vital to the safety of our nation, our communities, and our families,” said Strada, who easily won a contested primary last year. “Frank Pallotta stepped up and stood with us when we needed help. As a member of Congress, I know he will step up and fight for Sussex County and all the communities of the Fifth Congressional District.”
