Former Assemblywoman Maria Rodriguez-Gregg endorsed David Richter’s House campaign Tuesday.
“Since the first time David reached out to me, I knew he would be a champion for domestic violence prevention,” she said. “As a survivor, I know firsthand the trauma and devastation of being in an abusive situation. David has committed to me that as our Congressman he will support the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, close the ‘boyfriend’ and ‘stalker’ loopholes, and work with local legislators to support initiatives that protect all people from intimate partner violence.”
Richter, the former CEO of the international construction consulting firm Hill International, faces former Burlington County Freeholder Director Kate Gibbs in his bid for the Republican nod to take on Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton).
As an assemblywoman, Rodriguez-Gregg, a Burlington County resident, represented the eighth legislative district, which is mostly made up of Burlington County municipalities.
Gibbs has party support in Burlington, while Richter has the line in Ocean County.
“David’s years of experience and executive leadership, the love he has for this community, his wife, and his four daughters make him the right choice. I look forward to working with him in the future,” Rodriguez-Gregg said.
