Raimondo coming to N.J. to help Malinowski

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo will visit New Jersey on Thursday for an official event that could boost the re-election prospects of Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) in the 7th district.

Raimondo will lead a roundtable organized by Malinowski to discuss supply chain resilience and domestic manufacturing with Central Jersey business leaders.

Malinowski faces a hugely competitive re-election campaign in a rematch with former Senate Minority Leader Thomas Kean, Jr.  The two faced-off in 2020 and Malinowski won by one percentage point.

Raimondo, a former governor of Rhode Island, has been a constant visitor to New Jersey over the last two years, including official visits to help Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wykcoff) and Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-Long Branch).

The White House has been sending cabinet members into Malinowski’s district, including U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buggigeg.
