Rep. Donald Payne Jr. (D-Newark) raised $45,804 in the first two weeks of October, according to pre-general election reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Almost all of that money, $42,500, came from political committees. The remaining $3,304 was given by individual donors.

The congressman went into the final weeks of the race with $144,103 in his war chest, having spent $4,460 between Oct. 1 and Oct. 14.

Jennifer Zinone, Payne’s Republican challenger, has not filed any campaign finance reports with the FEC.

The 10th district is safely Democratic.
