Former Trump administration official Robert Patterson has $83,948 cash-on-hand for his primary challenge to party-switching Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis) in New Jersey’s 2nd district.

Patterson is the Van Drew’ sole GOP primary challenger after two other candidates withdrew and endorsed Van Drew, who became a Republican last December after refusing to vote for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Patterson raised $59,163 in the first three months of 2020 and has a total fundraising haul of $219,913.

He is carrying a $6,050 debt.

Van Drew reported raising $1,729,875 in 2019 with $1,079,974 banked as of the end of last year.

Trump held a rally in Wildwood in January to boost Van Drew’s re-election prospects.  The freshman congressman has won the organization line in all eight counties in the 2nd district.
