NRCC attacks Kim over Dem non-profit ads

The National Republican Congressional Committee attacked Rep. Andy Kim over ads aired in his district by a Democratic non-profit.

House Majority Forward, a 501(c)(4) with ties to the House Majority PAC, is airing ads boosting Kim’s vote on a bill meant to lower prescription drug costs by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices.

By law, the group is not required to disclose its donors.

Because Kim has backed legislation supporting the elimination of dark money in politics, the NRCC said he must disavow the outside group’s ads to avoid hypocrisy.

“Andy Kim is a total hypocrite when it comes to dark money,” NRCC press secretary Michael McAdams said. “As long as the spending is supporting him and his socialist agenda, Kim doesn’t care where it comes from.”

A spokesman for Kim declined to comment.
