Norcross retains Armed Services subcommittee chairmanship

Rep. Donald Norcross (D-Camden) has been given a second term as the chairman of the House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee, a post positions him protect the interests of New Jersey military installations like the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

“We live in an uncertain world where there are serious threats to our country and our democracy, and as we continue to fight the coronavirus pandemic, our military needs to be equipped with technologies to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow,” Norcross said in a statement.

Norcross’ subcommittee has jurisdiction over equipment funding for the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, National Guard and Reserves, and authorizes funding for military tactical aviation and helicopter platforms,  Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps combat and tactical vehicles, and electronic warfare programs.

“As the father of a veteran, serving on the House Armed Services Committee has always been personal for me, and this Subcommittee Chairmanship allows me to lead efforts to ensure our military can execute, innovate and modernize,” Norcross said.
