A fundraiser for U.S. Sen. Cory Booker’s presidential campaign hosted by two of New Jersey’s top powerbrokers brought in just under half a million dollars Friday.

An adviser to South Jersey kingmaker George Norcross, who hosted the event alongside Essex County Executive, told the New Jersey Globe that the $2,800-per-head fundraiser brought in roughly $470,000 for Booker’s campaign.

Norcross, who occupies one of New Jersey’s seats on the Democratic National Committee, has been one of the state’s top fundraisers for the past three decades.

Booker and U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez recently praised Norcross’s efforts at revitalizing Camden amidst a controversy over tax incentives meted out by the Economic Development Authority.

The event was held at Nanina’s in the Park in Belleville at noon Friday.

  1. Booker has always been for sale. Back in 2014 he raised more money from Wall Street than any other member of the U.S. Senate; not to mention the pile he made from Big Pharma which is why he was against Americans obtaining cheaper pharmaceuticals from Canada.

I’m sure Norcross will be pleased with the return on his investment.
