U.S. Senator Bob Menendez’s legislative director is leaving to work for a four-term congressman from Palm Springs.

Tim Del Monico announced today he will be the new chief of staff to Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-California).  He has worked for Menendez since 2014.

The Passaic County native started out as a campaign staffer for Frank Lautenberg’s 2002 U.S. Senate campaign and then worked for John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign.  He was Rep. Frank Pallone’s legislative director from 2005 to 2005.  After short stint working for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, he spent two years as legislative director to Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-California) before joining Menendez’s Washington office.

“Working for Senator Menendez, and with the incredible staff that he has assembled has been an absolute honor and a privilege,” Del Monico said.
